Student gets first class degree - for writing about the Kardashians

"I was working at a cafe on the day our results came out. My phone was broken and I wasn't due another break so asked my friend to find out what I got.
"She came back looking really mischievous, I asked her 'did I get a 2.1?' she shook her head 'a 2.2?'
"She shook her head again, grinned and then told me I got a first - I couldn't believe it!"
Now the reality TV fan is planning to use the thesis as the basis of her first book, and is considering whether to include the cast of notorious MTV show Geordie Shore.
Eliza said: "I love watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians - it's getting increasingly interesting from a gender point of view.
"In my dissertation I didn't have enough words to talk about the men in the family and their role in a post-feminist world.
"The relationship between women and their partners, ex partners and, in Rob's case, their brother is a really interesting complex.
"I now need to decide whether I'm just going to focus on the Kardashians or include the cast of Geordie Shore.
"The women on it are really feminine in some aspects but are quite masculine in the way they behave and how they act in relationships and looks at the idea of what constitutes a 'Geordie' woman."
